In Mainland Spain, Barcelona is a great location for golfers and general tourists alike and one of the most visited courses here is Saint Cugat. Founded in 1914, this is the oldest course in Catalonia and its maturity is part of its appeal.
Some 15 miles outside of the city centre, the course was built by British workers and each hole is named with a British theme. Once again this is a relatively short course which is perfect on hot days and for getting you back into some golfing rhythm at the start of your holiday.
If you`re looking for a location that combines top golf along with the many traditional tourist attractions of Spain, the Costa Brava is perfect for many holidaymakers. With a perfect climate and great locations, this is an excellent destination and there are many fine courses across the region.
At the PGA de Catalunya, you will be playing on a course that held the Spanish Open back in 2009 and is a stunning location with views of the Pyrenees at every turn.
Pals golf course is popular for its beachside location and the coastal views that accompany it. Surrounded by dense pine forest, this is a tough course which will really test your straight hitting ability.
Other popular golf destinations on the Costa Brava include the Torremirona, the Peralada Costa Brava and the Emporda.
